Women Dancing continued from page 3

Incidentally, Jorge Bermudez' first album appearance was with Jorge Santana on Malo's second album when he was just 17 years old. So, you could say they've recorded together over a time-span of 28 years.

Don't forget to check out the Bermudez Triangle web-site at www.bermudeztriangle.com where you can get copies of the new CD, and get interesting information about the band and the music. Rumor has it that there is some major label interest in the new CD. And, one of the songs, "Cu Cu Cumbia," is slated for the forthcoming Columbia/Tri-Star pictures feature film entitled "Broken Heart's League," later this summer.

Tom Savell - Leader of Superior Olive

Tom was always drawn to musical instruments as a young child and, at the age of 10, he auditioned for and was accepted to the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio. He wanted to play piano, but they told him he had to play the violin because his ear was so good. "I was upset and cried that summer because I didn't want to play a sissy instrument like the violin," says Tom.

Within 2 years, however, he joined the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Youth Division and played numerous concerts including sold-out performances at Cincinnati Music Hall, which held 5,000 people. He also played in the orchestra for many musical plays like "Guys and Dolls" and "Cinderella." He joined the AFM (musicians union) and the school acted as agent for performances outside of school.

The famous actress, Sarah Jessica Parker went there also. In fact, "She taught me how to French kiss," says Tom.

Later, in 10th grade, he moved to southern California and learned to play the guitar. Before long, he was in one of the hottest rock bands at San Dieguito high school. Tom recalls when his neighbor, Eddie Vedder, got his first guitar. "He stopped me on the street about halfway between our houses. He was pretty excited to show me his guitar. He wanted to know what I thought about it because I was well known around the school." Now of course, Eddie's the lead singer for Pearl Jam. It's a little known fact that Eddie's last name in high school was Mueller, not Vedder. It wasn't until Tom saw him on TV that he made the connection to Eddie Mueller, and confirmed it by looking at the "family thanks [to]… brothers Mueller" on the inside cover of "Ten."

Tom went to college at the University of California at San Diego and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Technology in 1989. That same year, he released his first CD with his band "Superior Olive" entitled "It's All In The Mind." He also played violin on Gregory Page's nationally released CD, "The Romantic Adventures of Harry," on Bizarre/Planet Records in 1994.

And now he's working hard in Santa Cruz, getting ready to release the next Superior Olive album.
